Navigating the DeepScribe app and recording patient visits is a straight forward process.

Creating a New Patient and Documenting Visits
Creating an Appointment
Tap the ‘+’ icon in the bottom right, enter the details for your patient visit, and press confirm.
When you’re ready to see your patient, tap their name to bring up the encounter.
Tap the microphone icon in the middle to begin recording.
Before turning away from your device, take a moment to ensure that the recording has started.
Documenting a Visit
Speak naturally with your patient while incorporating DeepScribe's prompting recommendations to ensure accurate note-taking and optimal outcomes. When you’re finished with your visit, tap the pause button. If you need to make additional recordings or add extra information, you can do so by tapping the microphone icon again and making an additional recording. When you’re ready for your note to be documented, tap ‘Scribe It.’ This will send your note to DeepScribe for scribing.
Note Statuses
DeepScribe has several note statuses designed to quickly identify what stage your note is in while being processed. These statuses are the same across the DeepScribe App and Web Portal.
"Ready to record" indicates there are not yet any existing recordings for the encounter and you are free to begin recording.
"Recording" indicates you are currently recording in the encounter.
"Ready to scribe" indicates you made at least 1 recording on the encounter, but have not yet pressed the "Scribe It" button. Your recording/s will not be processed until the "Scribe it" button is pressed for each encounter. Additional recordings can be added while in the "Ready to scribe" state.
"Scribing" indicates you have pressed the "Scribe It" button and we are processing your note. No additional recordings can be added once your note reaches this stage.
"Complete" indicates your note has been processed.
For our EHR integrated appointments, you will not see this status.
"Imported" indicates your note has been imported to your EHR.
This stage unique for our EHR integrated users.
"Failed" indicates your recording was unable to scribe or import. DeepScribe will typically automatically retry failed appointments until they are successful. If you continue to see a "Failed" status, outreach us via the Customer Support chat in the DeepScribe App or Canvas.
